Nawab Fakhr Ul Mulk was numbered among the Umra-e-Uzzam who were the great nobles of the realm of the Asaf Jahi Dynasty. They were ranked next to the Paigah nobles. The ancestry of Nawab Fakhr Ul Mulk can be traced to high officials and nobles of the Moghul Court who had migrated from Iran almost four hundred and fifty years back. They accompanied Asaf Jah I when he went to Deccan. 

The Nawab was known for his flamboyant lifestyle and his love for entertaining guests. He threw most lavish dinner parties and banquets. He was fond of European food and even sent his European clothing to Paris for washing. He was known for his kindness and charity to the poor. He would regularly distribute money, goods and food cooked in his own home to the poor.
